These are awesome. I found this in the men’s room at a local gas station. While I know what they’re for, I still think it’s funny that there is a “co-pilot” seat in the bathroom (with a seatbelt for safety too). What kind of torture is this for the kid? If you don’t behave, I’m going to strap you in a seat in the bathroom! And who would put their kid in one? For one thing, with such a close proximity to the head, there’s a good chance that some drunken college kid has pissed or puked (or worse) on it either by accident or on purpose because it’s an irresistable target.

Well I start my new job tomorrow. I’ve been asked by a lot of people whether I’m nervous for tomorrow. But actually I’m excited and looking forward to the morning. I already know I’ll have trouble sleeping tonight because I’ll want it to be morning already. I think it’s going to be awesome. It was actually came about very suddenly. Normally I’m not a bible-thumper, but I believe in giving credit where it’s due, and this new job opportunity was completely God-given.

I had a particularly frustrating day at my old job, contemplating whether or not I should just be unemployed for a bit while I looked for a new job or just take any job I found. [NOTE: I'd never go unemployed, but when you're having a bad day it can be an awesome daydream]. Well, after looking through the online job listing (which was a bust, as usual), I started to look into possibly going back to college (which I’ve considered for the last couple of years, but for one reason or another it just didn’t work out). But this time, I ended up looking at the job listings instead of the course listing and found what I hope will be a great match position. The job description listed everything I do and like doing. Add a couple more circumstances which worked out favorably for me, and wham-bam I was offered the position.

As for the old job, I’m going to miss the people. I liked most everyone at my old job. Among others, I am going to miss watching The Price Is Right with K’mel over lunch (the satellite TV was out from California, so TPIR came on at noon rather than 10AM), and I’m going to miss seeing the Lady up-front every day. And if there isn’t another Mitch at my new job, who will proofread my work and (with great personal pleasure) find the one set of transposed numbers in a 200 page doc? But unfortunately it only takes a couple people and a couple circumstances to out-balance the positive and make the whole scenario more of a daily struggle and ordeal than a career.

Coming out of college, I had a few job offers from companies spread between Colorado to Minneapolis. But I don’t think I would’ve had the opportunities to develop my knowledge base of as many things as I had at my old job. If it weren’t for those opportunities, I wouldn’t've had the skill-set required by my new job. I had the chance at my going-away party to thank the CEO of my old job for the opportunities I had at his company. There were struggles, yes, but looking back even now I’d have to have to say it was all worthwhile. I learned a lot I wouldn’t have been able to learn somewhere else and met people I’d not have met otherwise or have the memories I do. So I guess in the end everything works out and was worthwhile.
